Open Cello Class

Zoom

The Open Cello Class is a place where cellists of all levels, especially beginners and intermediate players, can experience a cello class situation like in a university program.

What is a cello class? This is a meeting that a group of cello students have together with their teacher, where in a masterclass-type setting some of the students have the opportunity to present music they have been working on. Unlike a real masterclass, it is not necessary to play a full piece! Half of a piece or just a couple of lines is plenty. You will then get feedback primarily from your peers, moderated by the teacher, with a few suggestions from the teacher as well. This format is not a replacement for private lessons, but can provide invaluable support, encouragement, and input from other cellists, allowing for more growth and advancement in the cello. All musical styles welcome, the only requirement is that you play the cello!

Pricing is 5€ for anyone who wants to watch only, and 15€ for those who want to perform (limited to 3 per event). Please choose a piece or part of a piece no longer than 5 minutes. Feel free to contact me in advance if you have any questions!

The next Open Cello Class will take place on November 21st, 2021 at 18:00 Central European Summer Time/ 12:00 Eastern Standard Time.

This time we have a featured guest moderator - Johanne Perron, an incredibly accomplished cellist and cello educator.
